The communidades which have not had any meetings or do not have a functioning committee should be assigned to a designated Administrative Officer and the same should be revived immediately.”

“Attention of the House is drawn to the concerns regarding the safety of Goans working in Gulf countries in view of the ongoing conflict and rising tensions in the West Asian region. A large number of people from Goa are employed in countries such as United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the prevailing war situation in the region has caused anxiety among their families in the State. India imports a large portion of its crude oil and LPG from the Middle East. Any disruption in supply chains may result in shortage of LPG cylinders and a sharp rise in fuel prices including petrol and diesel. Further Goa’s economy is closely linked to maritime trade and exports. This situation in the Gulf region could also affect shipping routes, trade flows and exports from Goa, thereby impacting local industries and employment. The steps the Government of Goa has taken to co-ordinate with the Government of India, particularly the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassies in Gulf countries, to obtain updated information regarding the safety of Goan Nationals working in the region”.

Ministers Reply“Fear and anxiety in the minds of people of Goa regarding, the recent forest fires breaking out in various forests of Goa from Canacona to Sattari and Mhadei wildlife sanctuary. There are mountainous forest areas which are un-accessible to fire fighters, where fire trucks cannot reach to douse forest fires. It becomes very difficult for fire fighters to control fires in such un-accessible forest areas as a result fire spread out in uncontrolled way and this results in delays in putting out the fire. Government may provide the steps it intends to take in setting up any plans /solution in this regards which will enable fire fighters to reach out those fire affected forest areas which are beyond access of roads where fire trucks cannot reach, to combat forest fires. The Steps of the Government to remedy the Situation.”

During night time this stretch of highway has become accident prone zone. I request govt to make functional the non working street lights along Margao western bypass.

Fear and anxiety in the minds of people of salcete Takula. As there is only one single fire station at Aquem,Margao in Salcete Taluka, that caters emergency services to seven assembly constituencies. It becomes very difficult in simultaneously attending multiple locations during various emergency conditions like fire incidents or in clearing uprooted/fallen trees.The Nessai Industrial estate can be considered in setting up new Industrial fire station which would be beneficial for swift action in providing emergencies services across salcete taluka.

I would like to bring to the notice of the govt. that there is no benefit of pension, Maternity leave to the home guards that are working in Goa since last more than 15 years.
Also there is no payment of the non working Sundays given to the home guards.
After death of the on duty Home guard staff, compensation of Rs10 thousand only is given to their family members
I request govt. to provide these benefits to home guards and increase the on duty death compensation amount

| There are 23 Anganwadis Centres in Navelim Constituency out of which 17 AWCs are functioning in rented premises.
Basic infrastructure such as drinking water, toilet, electricity and Kitchen facilities are available in all AWCs (exclusive/ sharing basis). However, initiatives are being taken to shiftrented AWCs to rent free Premises.
Since, the Anganwadi Centers are operational under the guidelines of Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi and accordingly, the rented premises hired are within the cost norms of the Ministry and regulate all services within available space of cost norms.
Inorder to provide better infrastructure facilities and upgrade the operational AWCs steps are being taken up for refurbishment either through owners or through community.
Identification of available/ suitable land for construction of model Anganwadi Centres is also in the process. Department had requested to Panchayat and Zilla Panchyats / Municipal administration for identification of any available vacant premises or vacant land to shift the AWCs.
As per the Central Ministries guidelines for co-location/shifting of AWCs with schools, the Department is in the process of identification of vacant premises/space for shifting Anganwadi Centres from rented premises to Govt. Primary Schools.
Department had identified 2 vacant premises in Government Primary School in Navelim Constituency, out of which request for shifting 1 AWC have been declined by Education Department while the reply for other is awaited. Further Identification of vacant premises is under Process.
Also Department has approached Companies/ Organizations/ Industries to take up the renovation/ upgradation of AWCs under CSR initiative. It is proposed to take up refurbishment of 5 AWCs of Navelim Constituency under CSR.
However, if the suitable land is identified and is made available to the Department, proposal to Construct AWC can be taken up. |
